Every student can be a winner: reducing the drop-out rate among Roma Students

The presentation covers the experience of Center Amalipe in reducing Roma students drop-out from school and introducing intercultural education. The program is based on a complex approach targeting students, teachers and parents. It has been built around the establishing of Roma culture classes in state schools in Bulgaria. The holistic program has resulted in reducing of the drop-out rate to 0.68 per school. At present it covers around 37000 schools. Furthermore, materials (both pedagogical and materials produced by the schools) will be presented at the stand.
